Ervaren IT Inkoper  (Senior Manager, Global IT Procurement)

Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Global IT Procurement contractor will report into the Senior Manager, Technology Strategic Sourcing and is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the category strategies and category plans for high value, highly complex and high risk categories within the IT space (Software, Hosting, Hardware, Telecommunications, etc.).  This includes understanding the dynamics of the demand and supply sides for the assigned category/categories, defining the right buying channels, ensuring sourcing strategies are aligned with the overall category strategies and carrying out robust supplier management.  In addition, this role manages stakeholder planning, communications, and reporting and leads the strategic sourcing and negotiating activities for the assigned category/categories and requests.
 
Tasks:

Leads the development / refresh of the category strategies and annual category plans for assigned high value/ complexity/ risk categories ensuring alignment with the goals, strategies and value proposition of Global Procurement:

- Analyzes demand to deliver on targeted procurement savings
- Researches the supply market within assigned categories to understand the current and potential strengths and weaknesses of the various suppliers
- Defines the set of preferred suppliers for the assigned categories
- Researches procurement activities, for assigned categories, within the international organization and member firms to identify opportunities and risks
- Assesses financial, operational, legislative and reputational risk during the development of the strategies and plans
- Partners with assigned clients and control functions to develop/update the category strategies and plans for review and approval

Leads the implementation of approved category plans for assigned categories:
- Establishes buying channels to ensure that the right, value-added channels are being used
- Recommends supplier segmentation based on optimal alignment with business requirements
- Sources, develops and monitors preferred supplier lists

Leads strategic sourcing projects for high value, complexity and risk and conducts the contractual and commercial negotiations with third parties for assigned category/categories and requests:
- Collaborates with member firms to assess and determine common go-to-market strategies
- Develops sourcing strategies and obtains approval from governance forums
- Establishes supplier selection criteria, metrics and measures based on business needs analysis
- Partners with key clients and member firm procurement teams to source and select suppliers:
    .    Negotiates contractual terms and conditions, detailed statements of work, pricing, service levels, and executes agreements
    .    Identifies and engages key SME’s or individuals who can best influence the outcome of supplier negotiations
- Manages the ongoing relationship with key suppliers
- Tracks the performance of suppliers


Participates in Global Procurement’s continuous improvement program by identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, within assigned category/categories

Supports the implementation, execution and maintenance of the category governance framework

Develops and delivers relationship management and service level standards based on established industry standards

Establishes trusting, long-term oriented relationships with key clients for assigned category/categories:
- Obtain feedback on their client experience and identify any new requirements
- Provide an update on both strategic and ongoing procurement activities within the category/categories
- Challenge the business when key metrics or procurement activities are not meeting plan/expectations

Maintains ongoing productive relationships with the Heads of Procurement in key member firms to:
- Promote and provide education on assigned category strategies, key initiatives and value proposition
- Review analyses of key Business Services or IT procurement activities in member firms to identify opportunities to:
    .    Leverage global and member firm procurement capabilities to address shared needs in assigned category/categories
 
Share best practices

Maintains subject matter expertise in assigned category/categories:
- Researches latest trends, innovation and leading practices
- Leverages subject knowledge and market knowledge to partner with the business to provide insights, translate the business needs to outsourcing plans and to define scope and expectations for the supplier

 
Skill Requirements:
-    Completion of University or College degree
-    Certified Procurement professional qualifications is preferred
-    8-10 yrs. experience as a procurement professional within a large complex organization operating in multiple jurisdictions
-    Be a subject matter expert or industry expert in one or more IT Categories (Application Development & Maintenance, Hosting, Enterprise Software (specifically Microsoft), Non-Enterprise Software, Hardware, Telecommunications/Network, Cloud Services (including public, private, and hybrid cloud environments), etc.)
-    Understand supplier management including contract governance (managing technical, schedule, commercial, and terms and     conditions compliance)
-    Have in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
-    Have successfully negotiated commercial, legal, standard and complex terms and conditions
-    Have comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory requirements as it pertains to third party outsourcing
